Won’t start. No fault codes

Good evening guys,
Im wondering if someone could help, I have a 2018 t6 transporter engine code CXGB with 118,000 on the clock

van would crank but would not start, i was told to get the injectors tested as an independant mechanic said it sounded as if it was not getting fuel, got the injectors tested turned out 3 of which were bad so i bought a set of 4 reconed injectors, coded them and put them in. Van still not starting. Van is getting fuel to the filter and the rail.

Any help or advise would be much appracited

Failed injectors normally follow a failed HPFP?

It's normally a recon HPFP plus injectors plus a full fuel system flush.

That said can you get scan data?

Fault codes?

Rail pressure at rest and during cranking?

Thanks for the quick reply guys, I was able to borrow VCDS from a friend earlier today for a short period of time, vcds is something i am not familiar with nor am i a mechanic, I have purchased vcds but wont be here to after christmas.
Is there a way in which i can test the HPFP ?
I will be sure to upload the scan data as soon as it arrives, really appracite the help guys.
When i done a Scan earlier today there were no fault codes

Did you fit the injectors your self?

HPFP test is normaly from the rail pressure and a fuel sample test...

Low rail pressure indicates low pump pressure and/or leaking injectors.

My neighbor had a HPFP go on a Ford TDCI mondeo.... When he took it to the garage they took a fuel sample...... They had about a pint of diesel in a sandwich bag and used a fridge magnet to show us the metallic fillings that appeared near the magnet. It was amazing to watch.

Ended up costing him a fuel flush plus recon HPFP and 3 recon injectors.

This could end up costing you big time.... It might be worth taking the van to a VAG indipenent for a second opinion and help with the repair.?

Did you purge the air out the system? From the injectors.?

How did you try the restart?

Normally with a no fuel situation on a T6 you need to use VCDS to drive the two fuel pumps to prime the fuel system..... It won't start without this re prime proceedure.

We fitted the injectors our selves an there is fuel up to the rail an we used vcds to recode the injectors.,but the van still not starting. But we will check the fuel. An again thanks for the help we r also going to get vcds to get technical info

With vcds you can comand the fuel lift pump and prime pump.

The workshop manual mentions running the pumps in succession for about 60sec intervals each.... Use a battery charger to stop the van battery going flat while you are working on the van.

Any background history how the van ended up a non-starter?

When you get the VCDS could you please post engine's blockmap-file:

Ignition ON

VCDS > Applications > Controller Channel Map >

1627854265341.png

Tick/fill boxes as above and hit Go.

VCDS flashes screens for a moment (when finished hit "Done, Go Back") and there will be file blockmap-01-... in folder C:\Ross-Tech\VCDS\Logs\....

Then here is a VCDS measurement setup to verify engines main parameters during cranking ▽

and the results from the above here ▽

Dellmasive / mmi many thanks guys the back story on the van is a bit of a long one and we didn't want to go into the full story as we didn't think we would get a reply as we never been on forums etc.

We bought the van off a local car dealer 5 months ago, we purchased it as a trade sale, the van was running perfect but for peace of mind as we didn't know Any history on the van we decided to get the timing belt changed and a service.
We were pointed in the direction of a local mechanic who works on vag to do the work.
After a few days we picked the van up again new timing belt and fresh service everything was running great we proceeded to drive the van for a further 2 weeks with no problems.

Then 1 day we drove 20 miles or so switched the van off and when we tried to start it, it wouldn't start just turned over extremely fast, luckily enough we were parked outside another car dealership and their mechanic came out and had a look and said the timing belt was slack the tensioner had sheared.

We then had the van recovered we were then recommended to bring the van to an audi specialist down the road from us so we got the van to him he had it for a week or so another new timing belt fitted and he phoned to say it was bad news the van wasn't running right he said there is more than likely bent valves etc, so that was no problem we said do what ever it needs the van got all new rockers 8 new inlet valves and 8 new exhaust valves.

After about a month or so of the van still in the specialist shop we phoned and we were told the van was running perfect compression was perfect etc all he had to do was Button everything up and we were good to collect the van. After being passed from pillar to post with him saying they haven't got round to building it back up to being told they forgot to put a bracket on and another 2 months later we phoned again to see if it was ready we were then told the van was running but would not start when the van was warm.
Then a few days later we were told the van would not start at all. We were told multiple stories we were told there was a blown capacitor in the ecu so apparently it was sent off and fixed when it came back he said yes the van on running great so we Said we would be down the following day to collect the van and suprise suprise the next day the van wasn't running again. That was the last straw we said we are coming to get the van as we were sick of all the different stories. We had lost faith in him to be honest.
We got the van recovered back up to our yard after receiving a bill from the specialist for £2.597 for the work he had carried out even though the van wasn't running we then removed the injectors ourselves and sent them away to be tested the test came back saying 3 of the injectors were not working and 1 was not spraying enough l, we then purchased 4 reconed injectors put them in yesterday got a lend of vcds and coded them in but to no avail the van is still just cranking but not firing up.
We also changed the fuel filter and with the fuel line off there and ignition on the fuel Is flying out of it so definitely getting fuel that far. Also with the high pressure line slacking off@ the injectors we are getting fuel there too.

The van will start amd run on easy start.

Terrible sorry about the novel guys we are at our witts end with it.

That's a proper back story.... Poor van.

Sounds like it's been through a rough time.

Let's start with a vcds scan to see if the bcm is alive.

Follow @mmi guide above to get block data. Then post it here..

Also post any fault codes.
Seeing as the van has been pulled apart so much it could be anything...

Glow plugs.
HPFP.
Injectors.
Fuel supply.
Missing engine sensors.
Crank sensor.

Etc etc.
Cam sensor.

Manually reset the timing with the timing pins check the high pressure fuel pump is also correctly timed (Page 99 of the attached)

100% guys I'll post the data up as soon as vcds arrives, thanks to all again have a good Christmas guys

I will indeed loz will do that while waiting on vcds to arrive, thanks very much

Afternoon guys checked the timing there on the van pins are going into the cam and crank pulley ok but the pump pin is not lining up its atleast a couple of mil out where I cant get the pin in, I've attached a few pics. Would this cause a non start ? Thanks

Looking at the cam you should try and get the pin in the centre of the elongated hole. Are you sure the crank is lining up as it should? Everything needs to be lining up. Worth spending time getting it right.
