Will Wd40 Remove Letter Ghosting...

What the title says really.

Removed the ‘transporter’ letters off the back of the van today, cleaned up the residue adhesive with white spirit but there’s still the outline of the lettering slightly visible. If not WD40 then what else should I be looking at?

Cheers.

A solvent should have taken it off, but if not a polish with a mild abrasive like T-Cut or similar will get rid.

I used IPA which took mine off in one go but I think white spirit or surgical spirit leaves an oily residue unlike IPA, so T-Cut should clear that.

Depends what you class as 'ghosting"? If it's the glue residue, then tar n glue remover for sure (tardis by auto smart is excellent for this type of job). If it's just the outline of where the lettering use to be, then it depends how weathered the paintwork is? I'm not surprised T-cut didn't do the job, has as much cut as a wooden spoon! I'd machine polish it using a DA, you'll do it in half the time and will achieve a much better finish.

T-Cut worked fine on my last van, not worth getting the polisher out for 30 secs work
