@CRS Performance Steve if I wanted to do a mild 30-40 mm drop on a T30 T6.1 LWB panel van that is empty at the moment but will slowly be converted would kit B be the best solution. The getting the suspension fully sorted when conversion finished?
If you look at most rear springs for a transporter they all have a few coils that are coiled tightly and sit on each other under normal use , Its not because they are cheap and nasty at all it how they get the car low with out the danger of the spring jumping out of position when the van is lifted off the ground ( Safety issue) , There are tons of cheap and nasty products out there but this isnt one of them i have to say . The touching coils dont make a noise on the H&R lowering springs as they are parallel anyway . The touching coils on a tapered spring can sometimes make noises . ( not on a Transporter )
Yes the B kit will be the longest front spring so should give approx 40 mm the B rear spring will be fine with an empty van but after conversion will need to be changed to a D rear ( also the longer spring)

Hi guys just jumping on the back of this thread. I have looked under the bonnet to find this sticker? The van is a t5.1 Kim I with 2+1 seats in the back and a double dog box in the boot. Would someone be able to advise which h&r 40mm spring set to get please? I’m opting for these over the stance coilovers, hoping I’m making the right choice!

Getting the right spring simply means getting the height where you want it ,. H and R offer 4 springs which gives the correct height depending on the weight of your van ,
Things that affect weight Are. Motor size , auto box. 4 motion , twin sliding doors , California or caravelle , camper and pop top accessories , all this will throw out the axle weights so it isn’t a good thing to only work on the axle weights .
the really important thing when fitting springs only. Is the condition of the shocks , the standard shocks are not that good. And don’t like lowering springs particularly if they have done miles. Shocks don’t last forever and are a serviceable part of the car , if your van has bigger wheels You will not get a great ride with lowering springs on the standard shocks .
the answer is to fit a proper performance shock to the H and R springs , this you can do later if you find the result isn’t as good as you hoped .

My recent purchase 2016 highline t28 just had the H&r 40mm springs fitted prior to the sale
My ride is terrible , bouncing and lots of rumbling noises over uneven surfaces .
Im pretty sure it wasn’t fitted by a specialist.

Thank you, going off the axel weight the kit 4 matches up, I do have twin sliding doors on the kombi, 2 + 1 seats in the back and a double dog cage permanently in the van. When I measure the current set up the results are as below running on 18” sport line alloys. I’m guessing as the weight is always in the van kit4 would be the best to try first? Would you recommend changing the rubber first as last to minimise and risk and issues.

Assuming the tape is in the center of the wheel center cap. The van looks to be standard height
460 mm. Front and back. On a T32 the rear can be 470 ,
The -40 spring will fit the van but the drop won’t be 40 mm. I would think 30 mm.
If you want 40 plus I would recommend -1 kit.
remember on standard shocks and lowering springs the ride isn’t great

The 50 mm spring is shorter than the 40 mm spring so you will get to the 40 you need
If you go with the -1 equivalent in 50 mm it might go down 50

Ash , I don't rate Stance at all we pull lots of those out of vans here . Corrosion and spring sag is really bad with time .
I would say get the H&R springs first and then save up for the KONI sport dampers , this will blow you away .
