Where to get lowering springs fitted.

I phoned up my local VW independent garage in Paisley and he wouldn't touch lowering the van with brand spanking new H&R springs provided by me. I phoned up another reputable German specialist garage and they said the same thing. They were getting me a quote for providing and fitting of the springs so will ring them back tomorrow.

Does anyone know where I can get them fitted in the local to Glasgow area? I was trying to not drive miles but its looking increasingly like a trip to Vanstyle for the fitting which will be a ten hour round trip.

You must know a local garage, its a simple job and cash in hand it wont be that much. I have been quoted £85 to fit some.

Sounds very odd. Why would two garages turn down your business?

And what you do with your insurance is your business not theirs...?

It's their insurance not covering fitting my springs.

Ok, so you have a set of new H&R Springs (in the original box possibly) and the garages in question won't fit them because you are supplying them.

Not sure what the answer is to that one...

I did exactly the same though: sourced H&R springs online, went to a local VW/Audi independent and got them fitted. No problem.

I would think there must be a VW independent somewhere local to you that can help out - try google, local papers, local phone directory, word of mouth etc.

Yeah there is a local independent vw guy that is very good but he wouldn’t touch them. Same with a German specialist also.

Will ask a few other garages nearby.
