Where Have You Been In Your Van Today?

I should think 'reverse in' policy is meant for caravans to stop tow vehicles destroying grass and invading neighbouring pitches.

I've never come across it either but I'm sure it exists.

Only experienced it once and we had adjacent pitches with friends. So it meant we couldn’t speak or socialise with each other while under our canopies. They flatly refused to allow one to reverse in.

I park with my back to that yellow disc in the sky normally unless it's one of the 355 days of the year when the sky is dark grey and we hook up... or when some miserable git goes round reading the rule book on no awnings, keeping a 6m gap and parking facing outwards ready for the Le Mans start on leaving day.
To be fair it was only one particularly misandrist klub kommandante in stout shoes at a site in Canterbury that pushed that agenda... some people aren't fit for purpose. 🤕 :cautious:

Not quite today but I had a bit of a bit of a roadtrip over the Easter holidays.
The idea was to visit the Isle of Arran in Scotland and up and round visiting castles, finishing of at Hadrians Wall.

Then CalMac ferries suffered a bit of a crisis. I knew things might not turn out how I planned when 'my' ferry was bobbing about during sea trials for a faulty fuel pump (this is a brand new ferry). Sure enough, crossing cancelled and a very high risk of not being able to leave the island.

So, have van will travel. I headed to Wanlockhead Inn - the highest pub in Scotland. It was shut.
This is the most bizare village I have been to. Remains of 1700/1800's mining and crap everywhere - like half cars. Stayed the night in the car park.

Onto Isle of Whithorn. Not an island but a pretty fishing village with a cracking pub. What a find.

Then onto the Lakes. Played safe with Keswick. Packed as usual but managed some decent walks and weather.

Finally onto Hadrian Wall and the infamous Sycamore Gap. Brilliant. Even better is a brewery called Twice Brewed. Filled my backback.
Unfortauntely the weather turned and had to leave next morning but a great 600 mile round trip.
