Where Have You Been In Your Van Today?

Google maps is the best way & I can spot a potential site usually. The C&CC & the High Vis jacket club always book up as it's the easy option for un savvy campers. But don't tell everyone. ;)
We received a complimentary membership for the C&MC with our van, but have never used it. Having never stayed on one of their sites, I can't really comment I suppose, but I do wonder what they offer that we can't find elsewhere at a lower price? We do require EHU and decent showers & toilets, but beyond that....if we wanted more from our accomodation, we probably would never have bought a van, and used the car to go stay in hotels instead.

I Was away for a weeks fishing on the Spey a few weeks back.
The dogs were happy and so was I with my new tv. Get a great picture
We caught salmon but only last years fish (kelts) nothing fresh.
Was great to get away though and managed to pick up a fishing let. I’ve got every 3rd Monday on a great pool on the Spey.
So will be up there a lot in my camper this year. IMG_8496.webpIMG_8488.webpIMG_8484.webpIMG_8485.webp

First place with good WiFi for a while so catch up last few weeks. Left mountains in Sestriere 8 th March south to Sestre Levante Camping Fossa Lupara, nice sea front and handy for the Cinque Terre. To Florence Hu Camping in town Firenze. Good facilities and local bus into town.Even at this time of year busy, which we usually avoid but stuff in Florence that has to be seen. On to the Adriatic Coast at Manfredonia Camping Lido Salpi nice restaurant and right on the beach.IMG_0600.webp Then on to the historic mountain town of Ostuni . Stayed in small campsite Masseria Appia Tirana absolutely stunning peaceful in their olive groves IMG_0691.webpIMG_0607.webpThen on to Agricampeggio Malapezza, walking distance from Sant’Andrea and 10 k cycle to the port town of Otranto. Campsite to ourselves most of the time and the owner Tomasso very happy for you to help yourself to the fruit and vegetables he grows.IMG_0615.webp Then 3 nights B&B at Azienda Agricturistica Le Puzelle just outside the mountain top town of Santa Severina. Third time we have stayed here, the place is stunning and the chef Salvatore produces amazing food. IMG_0692.webpIMG_0693.webpCrossed the Sila mountains very snowy and now spending the Easter weekend at Azienda Agricola Colle Felice near Cassino Lazio. Beautiful countryside and campground to ourselves , apart from 3 chickens and 2 dogs with whom we are now well acquainted. The hill with buildings on top above the awning is the Monte Cassino.IMG_0668.webpIMG_0628.webpHeading north tomorrow to be at Lago de Viverone on Monday for a few days.

just back from a last minute trip to bury st Edmunds, tried out the new debus air sun canopy with the sides before our next bigger trip, pretty impressed and it took storm daves best attempts up to 40mph before i decided to pack the awning bits and awning away at 1-30am, that certainly woke me up

Back over to "What Have You Bought Today" then
Honestly, this forum is not the best place to spend a breezy Sunday afternoon!
Very often cheaper to take the family out for lunch/dinner than to look at 'WHYBT'!
Pleased with my thrifty wife who has just dug out a collapsible cupboard thing from our camping days to go in our newest awning, saves a few quid but costs a bit more space in our SWB Tardis!

Been here at Gwithian Farm Campsite near Hayle in Cornwall for a few days. Right now the sun is out, storm Dave wasn’t bad at all (we just didn’t pop the top and I had the best nights’ sleep since we’ve been here… could’ve been the alcohol though…). Walked to the cove to see seals, then just had a roast at the pub opposite. Cracking site.

Plenty of other Campers here, a couple very similar to ours but not said hi properly to anyone. So if you’re also here gimme a shout!

We last came here 12 years ago in a tent and my Mini Cooper cabriolet - this place is where my dream of owning a camper started AND where my now wife proposed to me!

Oberstdorf for some end of season skiing, I love that the parking warden guys have an area for vans! First time I've appreciated the tailgate as well, slightly raining whilst putting ski boots on, sat out the back of the van - perfect!

Currently calm in Northumberland, due to peak around 2am. Now glad I used an extra 4 brackets per solar panel
Staying at river Breamish C&C site near Alnwick for a few days. 3am was interesting courtesy of storm Dave. Van was rocking for the wrong reason and the drive away awning kit parted company with the van. Luckily it didn't pull the awning rail off 🥴. Today much better. Stocked up on lindisfarne mead before the tide cut lindisfarne off and had a big fat Sunday roast at the Landing in Beadnell. Sat in the awning now watching Colin aka Yorkshire poptop adventures on telly whilst supping said lindisfarne mead 🍷😵‍💫🤤😴
