Looks like we got lucky the day beforeDriving through a wet Germany on our way to the View attachment 290689top of Denmark to catch a ferry

Cracking mate, the seatroot should be squeezing in soonI spent a night on a private fishing beat on the south esk.
I took my old boy. He’s 85 this year and loves nature and showed interest in coming away in the camper with the boys.
The fishing was terrible as our rivers still have very little water in them but we seen an osprey really close up. It was sitting on a branch opposite side of the river from us.
We also saw a kingfisher, woodpecker, sparrow hawk and lots of sand martins.
My dog Wooly upset this strange looking grey wagtail that was ripping about the banks. It trigger her chase instincts and off she went after it.
The deer were within a few feet of us also.
Had a nice bbq and a few beers, fished until dark and stayed over.
My dad was out cold until 9am.

There was a run of sea trout came through earlier in the week. My pals had the beat for the week and they had a few around 3lb. Not a sign of any salmon though.Cracking mate, the seatroot should be squeezing in soon
Yeah that’s the one we stayed in overnight but the midges were absolutely horrendous…some bigger than the van.If you can cope with walking a steep section of road, there is a free car park in the woods 0.5 mile away from the paying one. Too late for you sadly, but it might help someone else planning a trip.

Its all a learning experience. Seatrout are the most unpredictable species in a river. But when you get the timing right, you never forget it.There was a run of sea trout came through earlier in the week. My pals had the beat for the week and they had a few around 3lb. Not a sign of any salmon though.
But the water had dropped back by Thursday (my day) and there were not many left about.
We fished into the dark targeting sea trout specifically but it was bloody cold at night still and only seen a couple fish move.
Very disappointing.
Hopefully have more luck on the Spey end of the month.

You can have a fire at Bow farm ,and a short walk along the stream to the Bridges pub , they do super good food there . Its never boggy there lots of pitches to choose from some level some on the hill .We did look at Brow Farm as an option but with the rain forecast took the chance of a hardstand at The Green.
I used to go swimming there, many many years ago...A (stressful) visit to manchester victoria baths retro market for aome tat with the Mrs. Hoping the Ercol sideboard will fit in the van...

Do you have some designs of the ‘table’ you are using in the second photo please?Decided to pop up to the Epynt Mountains last night to support the local running club in their Welsh Castles relay 2025. Drovers is the toughest stage of the lot but the views on top are epic. So a nice Welsh stake for food last night followed by a welsh breakfast
