Just took my sump plug out to check, yours isn't a sump plug.
It's different to mine. Yours is a silvery colour and mine is all creamy white!!

Brand New Genuine VW original parts.
Part Number:
1x N90813202 : M14 x 22 Bolt with washer (supersedes N90813201 , N0138493)
Compatibility
Fits all T5 & T6 Diesel Models 2003-2016
Also fits non TSI Petrol Engines (3.2 & 2.0 litre non TSI)
Also used on many other VW models and Audi, Skoda and Seat Models.

Where’s This Bit From? - What is it? - what does it do?
They are found on load area floor. In the picture a regular load lashing ring, max pulling force 2500N (250 kg). Also can be found reinforced load lashing ring (with two fixing bolts), max load 4700 N (470 kg). In case of sudden loss of cabin gravity keeps the carpet in place.
Blimey, didn’t realise we had to be that specific.
I can see that I might have to make this quiz a bit harder next time.....
