Hi im at a loss
I can not get my wheels off to change to 20s.
Day 2 has beat me again
I've tried fronts and rears and cant budge them,
Before any smart a''' says take bolts out first i have LOL

has any one got any tips tricks hacks to get them off?

Just undo one of them first - and not too much.
A rubber mallet works for me.

Give them a thump….make sure the van is secure and not going to fall off an axle stand etc. When you go to put them back on, clean up where they stuck with a wire brush

Thanks for the replys
ill try wd then give them a whack.
i had a lump hammer and piece of wood on one earlier,
I've had them stuck before but these take the mick.

It’s a common issue as VW deliberately don’t put anti cease paste on them - they reckon it’s safer and prevents wheels coming off when bolts are loose!

So as said above, large mallet on the rear of the tyre should sort it, but you’ll need to give them a really good clout as they cease on firmly.

I loosen the bolts then a donkey kick back heel on the tyre, alternate sides usually does the trick! Hopefully you have it on a decent trolley jack and not the emergency tyre change jack!

A friend of mine advicates slackening the bolts and suddenly dropping the jack.

Once off I clean up the mating face of the hub with a wire brush in the cordless drill then a smear of copper / alu slip before the wheels go back on.

WD40

Changing a flat tyre on the A6, couldn't shift it so called RAC. Then remembered the can in the back of the car, gave it a good spray.

40 minutes later, matey turns up, jacked it up, pulled off the wheel with fingertips!

as above,

jack van up und put onto secure axle stands. . . .

spray WD40 penetrating oil on join between wheel and hub join.

use heavy duty rubber mallet and whack the inside edge of the alloy rim 3-5 times.

rotate wheel 90degress

repeat
