Wheel Spacers and Steel Wheels - ok?

Hi, I have been to purchase some H&R wheel spacers but have been advised that you cannot use wheel spacers with steel wheels, can anyone advise me if you can and what type please? I would like to purchase some 15mm spacers to fit my standard steels to for the winter.

I've used them with steels with no problems. I've not heard that one before either.

Mixing dissimilar metals will increase corrosion, ie steel and aluminum. The very reason alloy wheels on new vans are seized on the hubs when first removed.

Yes I think that this is probably the reason, if only for the winter I don't think that this will be a problem for me.
