What do you think about the bolt length winter 27mm(steel) vs summer 25mm (alu).

Seems ok to me but im not entirely sure about the recomended "push through" length.

From a engineering point of view with a steel bolt you need at least one diameter in length engaged.
Most vans supplied with OEM alloy wheels have a steel spare wheel, VW do not supply different bolts or specify that different bolts should be used.

So the diameter of the bolt are 13mm and the length peeking through are 26mm. So I should be good to go...

Original bolts but aftermarket alu wheels.

They are M14, I thought they were OEM VW alloy wheels.
You’ll need to check with the wheel manufacturer if the bolt taper is suitable.

Have a search on the forum, I’m sure I’ve seen this topic come up before.

9 and 3/4 turn of the bolts with threads until fullt tighten. And the taper seems to be the same. See my playdough casting.

Hi,
Bought a set of 18" sport line alloy wheels that came with standard 19mm wheel nuts. I have just bought some wheel nut covers and they don't fit.
Do I need to buy 17mm nuts?
If so what size and where can I buy.

Sounds like one of those measurements aren’t 19mm! I had 19mm standard bolts, and the 19mm standard VW caps fitted perfectly.

if you have some digital callipers, it’s worth checking the dimensions of both.

Post a few pics.

And some tape measure ments...

fwiw . . . swapped my sportline wheels today . . .

so have these to hand . . .
