What tyres do I need? New 18” alloys

Excuse my stupidity but I bought some alloys and thought it would be as easy as walking into a tyre shop and saying can you sell me some tyres and fit them.
I’ve gone to two and neither can tell me what tyres I need.

Have a browse through the Forum using the search function, you have several options.
I have 235/55/18 tyres on mine, as do a lot of others.
VW fit 255/45/18 tyres as standard on 18" wheels, but I prefer the larger sidewall of the 235/55/18.
Whatever tyres you get, make sure they are load rated for your van.
I see from the packaging that your new wheels have a centre bore of 72.6 mm so I think you'll need spigot rings, again, have a search on the forum to read up on that.

see that all makes sense, I used to race motorbikes so I feel like I have a good understanding of tyre sizes but both shops made it sounds so complicated. “It depends on the J number” and even after I showed them the boxes “it could be any tyre mate”

I haven’t opened all the boxes but I think the spigot and anything needed to fit them come with them as they came from wolf racing as a kit for the t6

Yes. The Transporter has a 65.1mm centre bore so you’ll need spigot rings as the above reply.
Also make sure both the alloys and tyres are weight loaded for your Bus

Also it’s a still a work van from time to time (although it shouldn’t be carrying heavy loads) so I’d like to have the side wall on the bigger size

I agree. Mines a work van and am sticking to the 18” wheel size. Too many potholes to run 20” wheels imho.

yes I wanted the 20’s but I just could not bring myself to do it as I felt it would just cause me issues.
