What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

@sgh: It's just bonded onto the panel?
I was looking into them but a bit unsure how it will look In combination with the kombi factory windows.
Do you have more pictures from the side?

Went to change the N428 Oil pressure regulating valve.
What an absolute B’tard of a job.
True to many others the body of the valve snapped right flush with the block.
In the end A/C compressor, sump, oil pump off. 6,8,10 and 13mm drill and then can of brake cleaner to flush it all through.
Borascope to check it was all clear and that’s enough for today!
Rebuild tomorrow as I’ve also discovered a torn engine mount that will be here tomorrow.
Something that should be relatively simple really wasn’t. Not totally unexpected however 😳

Bought new wheels, nuts too tight to change 'em so ordered an ugga dugga thing. Ryobi, black Friday deals (never done that before) goes to 400nm should be plenty I think?
Although we torque the wheel bolts up to 180Nm, time and corrosion often make them more difficult to get off. Although an impact wrench is a great addition to your tool box, a long breaker bar might be needed too.

Thanks, yeah appreciate that, long breaker next on the list. I've always managed with hand tools in the past but did manage to bend (slightly) an extendable breaker bar on my son's Caddy a few weeks ago.

New battery fitted and coded. Nice straightforward job all round. I now have reliability and stop start that actually stays on longer than a minute.

Took time to do a few tweaks using Carista too. The usual things basically.

Then did a full regen just because o could and spent 20 mins doing laps between two roundabouts on nearby bypass. 😂

Does a regen make the van run smoother at all? I didn’t expect it to, but it does feel a touch different in traffic. I suspect it’s just in my head but thought I might ask in case this is a nice benefit?

Been wanting to upgrade the usb ports in the back of the van so managed to find some PD 65W usb boards to try on Aliexpress. I want an easy way to power a portable screen and quick charge phones etc. Will also possibly look to upgrade the 12v socket to a higher amperage while I'm at it.

Mocked up a new base plate for the CBE/C-line base plates to hold the boards, now to wait for them to turn up.

Back has mounts for boards, have to see if heat will be an issue
