What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

Got around to taking off the bumper and getting the Travelin lite fog light kit fitted.

Just need to finish off the wiring.

I wonder if it messes with your DAB, when the lights come on?

I tried a few different kits, and on my van they all interfered with the radio… so I gave up and stuck with ugly yellow fogs. :(

My cheap Chinese head unit doesn’t have DAB so cannot answer this one sadly.

Had the cracked front screen replaced :(

Once swapped an MG metro turbo for a mk3 Transit camper first day of owing it a bus pinged a house brick out from its rear tyre and I drove thought it, removing said windscreen. I used to give a few people a lift to where we worked as it was a good 10 miles out of town. We did that trip in the middle of an extremely cold December for about a week with no windscreen. The thing wasn’t good on fuel or warm. Don’t judge me I was poor and young.

The downside of having 2 new Safari windows fitted was it left the carpeting in a bit of a mess on the drivers side, so I made a cardboard template then transferred the shape to some ply and covered it in some left over carpet I had when I did the rest of the van.

Had a spare hour so fitted the Dido Acoustic Liner to one of the doors. Tested it as ear drum popping levels and it truly has eliminated the last of the minor rattles after fitting Dodo Mat already.

The only issue is…why did I think it was a good idea to do the passenger side first!?!

Tracked down the worst remaining poptop squeak. A loud creaking above the passenger’s headrest was driving me mad. The metal frame of the poptop overlapped a corner of the van frame at the top of the A-pillar. I trimmed the poptop frame back, and it had been rubbing metal against metal. Headlining all back up, and the creak seems to be gone.

There is a polished, worn bit 3mmx5mm where it was rubbing on the chunk I cut off.
