What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

I think that’s the point, the full load settings assumes you will be taking the load out whereas the no load setting assumes your van is empty and it is how it will be most of the time. @BognorMotors - have I got that right?

Yes, I appreciate there are plenty of differing views on this topic and it differs with the amount of drop. I have previously had the no load set up and ended up having two blow outs on the rear and went through a few tyres... I will keep a close eye on tyre wear over the next few months. 500 mile round trip next week, so will get chance to give it a good check over. Loving the drive at the moment though...

What gap you got now? Will need do that at and see Steve at some point after new wheels and gap it’s a bit small but no rubbing at moment
Had it lifted up from 55 drop to 30 drop overall with different springs and adjusters... Sounds like you need similar, maybe a touch more if you are on 245/65 BFGs... Mine are 235/65 Wildpeaks. I'll measure and post picture tomorrow if it helps. šŸ‘

Now the bench has gone I fitted the replacement seat adjuster to the passenger Captains seat. ( the original was a bodge welded job at an angle and never worked ) Now the locking pins work!

Also fitted both Vanshades and the Vanshades door storage to sliding door.

I really like the fly screen in combination with the Safari window

Fitted the front end up, ready for paint yesterday. For anyone fitting a leighton bumper, instead of plastic welding the 58 tabs use 6mm star wahers and cable tie grips, its alot easier and if you need to remove them its fairly easy. Aslo made a fill in panels where the shit liners don't meet to the bumper.

Installed the wireless phone charger cradle today, 30 EUR for all the parts here in Germany from VW. I haven't put the charger bit in yet, but even without that it's better. The holder itself is rubber and is purposefully a tight fit that widens when you push the phone in so it's really snug. It can't move around and will be nice and secure when I come to install an aftermarket wireless charger module.

Washed it. Then fitted lower grille Matt black trim pieces to replace the OEM silver ones. Think I’ll stick with the upper silver, (even though I have Matt black replacements) as I think it ties in nicely with the OEM lights.
To answer any potential questions.
1. Yes can be done with bumper on.
2. Start at OUTER edge with small trim tool directly next to indicator and get it behind trim.
3. Lift trim and get bigger trim tool behind.
4. Work towards centre slowly and lever off until first clip snaps.
5. Get your fingers behind and slowly pull away from grill with one hand whilst holding grill in place either other.
6. Remove any clips stick in grille with pliers.
7. Slide edge of new trim (ONLY JUST) into recess in VW badge.
8. Gently push all clips home.
9. Admire your van. Have beer and chuck old crappy trim in the bin. 😊

Some say on aftermarket trims the centre fitment to badge is a bit off but with method above (centre first) and THQ trims I had no bother šŸ‘Œ

This looks achievable with my limited skill set - do you have the various part numbers please?
