What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

If the dual set of indicators as to which gear you're in annoys you, there are few options:-

Yeah saw that post thank you 😊 trying to find a good place to source a manual frame and then a leather gear gaitor with orange stitching 💪🏼

I've just picked up my bespoke cushions for the rear bed in the kombi.

A great guy did these for me, and I think hes done an excellent job. I've not tested anything yet, ie sleeping on it, but just the layout.rear of van 2.webprear of van 3.webpseats3.webpseats4.webpseats5.webpseats6.webp

Its based on me turning the second row double seats round, placing two sheets of 18mm ply (buffalo board) between the wheel arch boxes.

The idea being that during 'normal' use it configures into a U shaped lounge at the rear, with a small table/seat.

Then when I go away I simply remove the single second row seat, turn the double around, and when on site change the U shaped lounge into a bed.

Hopefully it works......I've never done this before so any advice before I trek off to a site to try it will be useful. IE getting out for a pee etc etc

Cheers Ali

Discover media mib3 is almost complete.
Component protection removed courtesy of Scott @ ludlow vag diagnostics remotely with vnci 6154a vci lead.

Just have to finalise the latest software as the donor unit was a few versions behind. Requires a usb c stick for this for connection to vans usb c port.

Whist I had the center console apart for this, got the final connections complete and powered up the heated seat relay module.
Just waiting for the hvac moduke to arrive next week to complete then code in.IMG-20260314-WA0017.webpIMG-20260314-WA0027.webpIMG-20260314-WA0015.webpIMG-20260314-WA0013.webp20260315_083644.webp

The mib3 discover media retrofit is now done. Could not be happier. Scott @ ludlow vags diagnostics is a great professional.
As said, he remotely coded from his end. Wiring and fitment by myself.
Very clear and precise on what alterations were required my end and loading patching the fec swap codes to new headunit. Everything works great.
For the time being, sos is now just sitting in the background. Only faults that Scott mentioned will only be seen in diagnostics.
I may get this eventually coded to my vans vin, but seeing how much greif sos is, I'll park this up for the time being.
Led light is coded out for the time being.

digi dash next in the coming weeks.

Gave Nelson a good wash, he was ditched with motorway dirt, left him to dry overnight.

Windows cleaned with glass cleaner and RainX
Polished him with AutoGlym Super Resin Polish
Waxed with AutoGlym Super HD Wax.

Much better!

Next up, interior needs a good clean ready for easter as we're off into Derbyshire.

Received the hvac module for heated seats

I quick heads up lads. If you buy one from a crash damaged van, as long as your vans airbag module is fault free, not crashed, the hvac will just need reactivating with your vans engine running to bring it back to its previous settings. Then adaption/coding changes to apply to your own van. No security pin required.

Yellow indicator light under recirculation button to show its on locked function prior to engine on.20260316_160645.webpIMG-20260316-WA0002.webpIMG-20260316-WA0013.webp

The one I bought for single drivers twin passenger front seats only. No rear heated window (solid Tailgate) and AC fitted.
