What Have You Bought Today?

Hi Grape escape,
That road angel looks like it maybe what I need. I have a genuine vw reversing camera in my tailgate as part of my barn door to tailgate swap, and a basic head unit that I can't get to work with it easily, do you think could I connect a genuine camera to the road angel or is it a specific one they use ? ta

With that camera, you get a reversing camera and all the leads etc. There is probably an adapter to link the two, but I'm not 100%. I've fitted the front camera which is 4k, but the back camera will require me to drop one side of the roof lining to the back. That's a weekend job now

Great thanks, will do a bit more research into adapting camera looms etc, looks like could potentially be an elegant solution to get a dash cam and utilise my rear camera without replacing the head unit ! Ta

Not sure where the camera is on an oem version, but halfords do one which fits in the rear light unit above reg plate

Yep pretty much the same place I think, luckily I have the loom on it too that goes up to about halfway along the nearside roof with a 3 pin power plug and presumably the monitor connection which is a blue fakra connectorAF7832AA-FB47-4699-9893-D33D67FF5476.webp

Got my Sterling Power unit swapped over to the solar model and hooked up to the Renogy 220w briefcase (portable) type unit. Screenshot of Video shows in yellow led matching solar input of 18v and the regulated output at 13v so hopefully all is good with the setup. Only had 15mins before heading to work.

Great solar suitcase set up. I bought one when my second flexi panel packed up and, when deployed, it kept my van 230Ah LB topped up, on occasion at over 250 watts!
A rigid 270 watt panel on the roof now but I couldn't bear to part with the Renogy, it now powers our Bluetti AC180 in the awning. Can't have too much solar!
