What Have You Bought Today?

Where do you get those?

I must admit I was surprised it happened. I had previously sprayed some WD 40 on the catch probably last year somewhen. I regularly checked oil, water and topped up screen wash it always opened and closed normally.
Sweet baby Moses! I’m now checking all my cars safety catches . Thanks.

Little single sandwich maker from Aldi. Only 500watts. Perfect. We have a George Foreman at home we use for toasties. But you can't beat the 80s/90s style.

I used to help someone with their house clearance business over Covid PAT testing all the second hand electrical stuff. After completing a pile of sandwich toasters I think it was 25 - 30 of them they kept insisting that they were worth good money second hand. The pile I had on the bench said otherwise. Even the ones with some free dried cheese weren’t a tempting enough offer.

Did someone say free cheese? 😋

Been after a bike rack for the van, didn't want the hassle of fitting a tow bar and electrics but have barn doors with a spoiler! I came across this on Facebook last week Duo by Mountain Eco and they assured me it would work so I took a punt. It's really well made and with all 6 suction cups fully attached it's capable of 600kgs of force though they rate it at 40kg for 2 bikes. On their website it shows a bike stuck to the ceiling and one of their staff members hanging off the bike! Time will tell I suppose, will I end up with a few grands worth of bike on the road? With the bike attached I have given it a real good shaking and it doesn't budge but I suppose it's only as good as the window bond?? I still have my old barn doors here without windows so might go back to these

Double worry of the bike rack failing or the window! Plus, the wheel does look quite close to the road.

I would not only be worried about the bike falling off and killing somebody behind me on the motorway but that bottom mount all the load is concentrated in one small area of flat metal.
I’d be terrified going over a small bump in case it dents the panel. What will happen if there’s a strong side wind?

I’m afraid that makes me nervous just looking at it. I share the same concerns others have expressed. 🤔
