bend them back on opposite sides, enough to spin them, lefty loosey, and they come off easy.

My Toyota has bolts attached to the body with nuts holding the heatshields on. Impossible to get off, totally seized and using too much force snaps the bolt. I'd take the clippy things any day of the week.
