hi guys will be adding a westfalia detactcable two bar in the coming weeks I’m 20 mins from Bath any recommendations in my area? And how much should I be paying?

Cheers Steve

As a price comparison, I was quoted £600 inc vat last month for a detachable Westfalia with full function 13 pin vehicle specific electrics and coding done.
After reading a few things on here and also looking at the Westfalia fitting instructions I got the firm to also order up the plastic rail and foam inserts (for additional under bumper support) I ending up paying around around £670 all in.
I'm in Scotland so a bit far away for fitting but it will give you a rough idea of cost.

That’s very helpful info thanks

Most places will say leave it with us for the day but it takes around half a day to install if done with the proper vehicle specific wiring kit as theres cables running through to under the seats then up into dash etc
Whoever you go with make sure they fit the bumper supports as most places dont and you will end up with a wobbly bumper

Thanks Pauly Did you get info on my steering wheel?

I ordered the bumper support and clips at the same time as my towbar. Having stripped it all down I found I already had exactly the same bumper support already on the van. TPS refunded without any problems.
Might be worth a call to Tps to confirm what part is already fitted before ordering.
Mine is a 2017

AFAIK Glass behind the front seats just needs the two foam pads
No glass behind front seats needs the plastic support piece that runs across

I did, looks promising
Brilliant any ideas what those words are and if I need anything else, also just spoke to dolphin towbars the bloke is saying the tow bar is fitted standard height my van is lowered 40mm will that affect towing a caravan he is saying put my van back to normal height of I want the caravan level when towing ?

Dolphin towbars saying of your van is factory camper or combi they already have the bumper support ?

Have a look at the pf Jones site. Witter instructions state
If Metallic bumper beam installed: Remove and discard bumper beam from rear panel and refit fitting bolts to rear panel.
If Plastic bumper beam installed (T5 my. 2011- / T6): Remove bumper beam and cut according to sketch (X) shown. Refit plastic beam to rear panel. (Note: It is also possible to order from your dealer original VW bumper support for towbar use: 1x rail 7H0 807 723, 8x gasket 357 853 586B and 8x clip 701 867 299).

I’m useless at anything like this I just hope dolphin towbar guys are good and trustworthy a little baffled by my van being lowered won’t the caravan be toe hitch down when on my van, the guy is saying the tow hitch can’t be moved up so the caravan sit level I woukd have to put my van suspension back to standard

If you have a single axle caravan it will sit a bit nose down, but if you have lowered by 40-50mm at the back wheel that is not a huge amount over the length of your caravan to centre axle. you will just need to keep an eye on the nose weight of your caravan when you are loaded up and hitched to stay below the max vertical load of the Westie towbar (100 kg I think).
I am lowered and although I've not had the caravan on the back yet it is fine pulling my twin axle trailer with no issue being slightly down at the front.
One think to watch though would be the combined nose weight of the caravan and the weight of everything you load in the van when you go away (including people. You might start getting close to rubbing your wheel arches if you are to low with big wheels fitted.
