Welcome new members

I'd like to agree, but i can't mate sorry.

Dont get that, swap thingy.....
I live in England, land of speed humps and potholes big enough to make Beirut residents snigger.

Throw in that I'm old enough not to care what I look like and the Swamper makes perfect practical sense.

If people prefer to look at their vans then slam away. I personally dont get that either on our roads, but Transporter life is a broad church and the congregation comes from all corners.

Seems like some members of the congregation like to preach more than others 😅

I dont mind preaching, seeing as I've slipped my yearly subs into the collection plate.

And the Lord said unto the Transporter owners, "support the forum by paying thy yearly fee and one can chunter until ones heart is content."

And lo! I did support the forum, and the Mods saw that it was good.

And the Transit drivers were cast unto the sodomites and...

Hello Pauly and all, recently purchased a Dec 68 plate transporter shuttle SWB 102PS as our day car to tow our 1500kg caravan and been very pleased with it so far. I have a feeling I'm going to be spending quite a lot of time on this forum. There was a time when NOTHING mechanical or electrical on a car would phase me but Oh, how times have changed. We love the car (call it a car because it tows the van), but the expensive emission controls and technology has been giving me panic attacks! In 2018 we bought a caravan and a 2001 Toyota Regius 2.7 petrol Auto to tow it, early enough for me to carry out most repairs myself, and had been very happily using it until I read last year that it was most likely illegal to tow with it because grey imports do not have weights stamped on the VIN plate. Trouble is, once you know.... You know, and it had to go; because we couldn't risk an insurance rejection if the worst was to happen.
So, we're now proud owners of Vera the VW. Before becoming a member I've already read quite a bit (and still bought one! :) and would like to thank all the people that post their experiences and technical information and scaring me to death. Naturally I've decided to join up because there's something I'm trying to fix and need more specific technical info (ie. Why does something simple like interior lights not working have to be so complicated and not simple at all??!!). The user manual doesn't even show the types of lights I have or any reference to fuse identification.
So that's where I'll be heading off soon - to the electrical department.
Who knows, Hopefully, in time, I too will be able to contribute and help others get to solve a problem or two.....

Hi
New member here, driving a 2009 t5 sportline 174. Bought from new and still love it like the day I bought it

Hi folks,

Delighted to find the forum & join.

Here in central Norfolk, I've got a 2018 V6 at 67,000 miles, just run out of VW Service Plan. I'm looking around at the options to support it, or whether I should be thinking of moving it on. A BRILLIANT truck as long as it works OK, but some of the repair tales I hear sound a bit scary.
