Welcome new members

:) Sounds familiar - that's what led me here.

We're an active and engaged group with lots of knowledge and experience to tap into, with some friendly banter thrown in for good measure.

Now all you need to do is post some pics of your van - it's the unwritten rule! ;)
I’ll give it a clean tomorrow and get some up before I set off to the F1 in Holland

Is there a dedicated post for van pictures or just on here? (Found it)

Finally decided to say goodbye to the Caddy that has served me well for the best part of 10 years and have dropped a deposit on a 2022 Sportline Black Edition Kombi. Busy travelling work-wise for a few days this coming week so not likely to change over until Saturday morning. Looking forward to ownership, and adding some mods. Expect questions!!!

Hi Everyone, I've joined to the get the best info before we head out and buy a Caravelle. Had a quick look around before registering and looks like I've come to the right place. Question is 204 or 150 BHP?
Hi Everyone,

After over a year deliberating and taking a wrong turn towards something else. We took the plunge a couple of weeks ago and bought a 21 plate Caravelle Exec 150. We've just completed a 1300 mile trip from the SW to N Ireland in it and love it

Looks lovely…just the sort of thing I’d like to get into when my turn comes around. Now to convince the wife! How are you finding it?

We love it. We bought if for the room and flexibility of the seating. It's really easy to get a comfortable driving position and the controls are so familiar if you've ever had a VW. I thought the 150 would be sluggish, but it has surprised me with its get up and go. The high up seating position is a godsend on our roads allowing you to see way ahead over any other cars. It's never going to drive or handle like a car and if you drive it with that in mind you will love the 'more relaxed' travel it brings. With 4 of us on the trip to NI we pushed the bench seat right back towards the rear door and used that for our luggage giving max room to the two captains seats. There was no complaints whatsoever from that row for the whole time. Over the 1300 miles it returned 35mpg and having just done some 1 up motorway driving I got 40mpg.

Great to hear! We’d be a family of 5 so reckon the Caravelle would be absolutely ideal, and we could potentially take my Mum out with us or the other grandparents too, then have a great vehicle for European trips we’d like to do in the coming years. I think I just need to find one I can take my wife to see

On the practical side especially when 'devices' need charging there are 2xUSB C and 2x12v 'cigar lighter' sockets up front, with two USB C for left hand side passengers with another 12v socket on the right hand side with another 12v socket in the 'boot. Front door storage is huge and there's a smaller tray just below the window sill line that is ideal for sunglasses, phone wallet/purse etc. The glove box is on the small side but it is cooled. But there is an open storage space above it. Being a T6.1 there are pouches in the back of the front seats for mobile phones. There are numerous cup holders and the pop up table is amazing, two cup holders, magazine/map storage each side, a drawer and a storage area next to the cup holders. My 85 year old FiL had no problems getting in and out of the captain's seats during our trip. Hope this helps in the convincing.
