I used to participate on some German specific 4x4 vehicle German forum for a number of years. Although we do have some off road travel in some places in England and Wales covered by specific laws some of the tracks very good Eastern Europe and travel across the former soviet Union sort of silk road passages have always interested me. Many of the correspondent on some forum travel long distances off road and I am so envious. BREXIT and COVID have made things difficult in that respect passports insurances length of stay freedom of movement all passed willingly away. Still a snorkel is of interest to me some fords about but also flooding during the winter months. Floating away might better than drowning ones engine depending on spot. Travelling through floods no big deal in many 4x4, had a UNIMOG years ago complete with snorkel just went through chest high water like a breeze. The worst thing with the T6 is the should I shouldn’t I and just wondering as the water builds up in front how far off is it from dieseling / water locking ones engine £££££ I will most probably have it done for me if I find a suitable sales place that fits the snorkel. I think one near Aberystwyth might do that sort of thing or did. A mistake with the hole cutter or cutting mistake into the air-box might be expensive. Not a difficult thing but I understand that the instructions might be a little vague.Hi Badjamin, hi Kind of Blue, thank you for the warm welcome. @Kind of Blue, I like to venture off the beaten track, and in Eastern Europe, a little extra wading depth is sometimes welcome. Installing the snorkel requires some experience with sheet metal work—and a bit of courage to cut such large holes in the metal body of a newer vehicle.
