Out with dogs this morning, noticed some fluid leaking under van. Was using air con thought nothing of it. On way home stopped at Tesco, quite a lot of fluid dripping. Popped bonnet and noticed coolant was really low. Called VW Assist. The technician called and said fill it with water but keep a close eye on the level. If needed call us back. By the time I got water organised all coolant was gone.

After several hours faulty water pump was diagnosed. Van loaded on to recovery truck and dropped off at home. Getting collected in morning and going to VW Newbridge.
The vehicle is a 2.0l petrol tsi with timing chain, purchased November. 2018 plate 25,000 miles.
Will the water pump be covered by warranty. VW Assist guy thinks yes. What do you guys think?

Thanks
