Water from behind awning rail

I've had a look at the top of the van now it's on the drive and I have access to steps.

There is black sealant of some type along the rail. This beads the water and stops it for large sections of it.

Then there are sections were is looks like it's come away or 'collapse' slightly. This causes the run through. Tested by pouring some water onto the pop top at various points and watching make it's way down.

Specify that the fitter takes it off, cleans completely to remove trace of previous silicone, takes pics of the primed screw holes, and refits with a bead of sikaflex along the length of the rail. (Sikaflex is a bit more expensive but for a good reason - it works as it is made for this type of job!)
