Washer fluid, gas alarm, dog sneezing

I fitted a diesel heater, and so I also fitted a gas alarm...

Weirdly; when I squirt the windscreen with the washer fluid, the gas alarm goes off shortly afterwards.

And the dog sneezes.

Changed brand of washer fluid: same thing.

Can't be healthy ingredients!

Is that a multi gas detector? Does it detect flammable gas? If so it’ll be picking up the methanol in the washer fluid.

Yes, multi-gas. Makes sense. It has an off switch, so leaving it off unless I'm sleeping in the van.

Dog doesn't switch off though, so having to live with dog snot on the touch screen

My cab honked of screen wash until I changed the cabin air filter. I’d forgotten about it until you just posted.

The other thing could be:-
Washer fluid makes dog sneeze….dog farts when it sneezes….gas detector detects methane from dog…..
