Hi Folks

As stated was going to wait for warranty to run out in March but rather than buying a new van as I like it going to get chipped. Decided on Revo and want to get it done soon, my van is a 102 Euro 5 16 plate. I'm told will increase 168-178 bhp.

Anyone had this done please any good? I don't want to go fast in the van, cars are made for speed :)
Just want alittle more power from time on the hills!

Thank you

Nick

I had my 66 plate 102 remapped about 2 months ago. Had black code re-map. I was given the option of performance or economy re-map. Went for performance because it has also been converted to a camper.
Mine is now according to the garage sitting at 160 ps. It now sits miles better on the road at the speeds i want considering it is a camper. I didn't wait for my warranty to run out but thats the risk i was willing to take considering i swapped my t5.1 174ps in for the t6. I thought i could handle the power loss, but couldn't. It's a country mile away from what i was used to but now i don't feel like i'm driving Miss Daisy around.

I’m also going to get the re map done before the warranty runs out, I’ve been told pendle motorsport is the place to go? Any one had a remap from them and what’s the difference to revo?

@Phantom. As you may have seen from a recent post, I too have been looking for a remap. As irony would have it I was at our sailing club on Saturday when a member came up to me and said “if you want your van to go as hot as it looks, you need to speak to my son, he’s over there as he has come with me”. So I give it the old, “howdo”, “so how you gonna make my van go hotter and don’t say ‘set fire to it’!”.
“I work for Revo, based at their HQ in Daventry” (20 min up the road from me). Well I damn near fell off my chair! Let’s just say he had my full attention at that point.
Turns out they are just finalising a new map, so he took a picture of my vin number and said he’d be in touch as soon as they’ve finalised it.

You get them all at sailing clubs! That's funny! Yes I did see read you were also looking at mapping and interested in thread. I was thinking of selling and buying bigger engine but got quite attached to van which is odd as I don't get attached to cars apart from my old Land Rover 200 tdi! I think it's because I sleep in it and I like sleeping, plus the beer, barbecues and normally going somewhere fun!

Anyway I've done quite a bit of research (talked to someone I know and trust!) and he has told me to go Revo. He highly highly rates Pendle and the likes but for me and what I want it for recommends Revo. I have been told the Euro 6 no chip yet for 102 but 5 is OK, I believe Pendle do have a chip for 6 but Revo still testing but not 100% as something about turbo's!

So yes my VIN is with Revo as we speak, warranty out in March so it's just wait and do full service in Feb then chip or get it now. Head says wait as not much use over winter but hate waiting for anything :)

OK. Performance is much improved - I was mainly motivated by a desire to improve drivability over the std map rather than outright performance (it is a van after all), which the Pendle definitely achieves.
I did experience a strange characteristic at about 2100 rpm in 5th and 6th gears at larger throttle openings - felt like driving on washboard tarmac. My van was remapped at a fairly low mileage - circa 4000 - and this characteristic has gradually diminished as the van has covered more miles. It's nota case of me getting used to it - it has diminished. Still there very slightly. I initially was going to go back to Pendle but as the centre is a 160 mile road trip for me I have just never done it.

Go back to pendle or an agent and get it sorted. The very early Euro 6 pendle maps where strong on the torque delivery and cause the gearbox diff to vibrate if running larger wheels. This will eventually fail as it did on my t5 from an elite remap.
My 150 Euro 6 by pendle did this and I turned around 20 miles after getting it done and went back and it got sorted immediately. This was very early on in the Euro 6 map development.
Since then vw removed the map from software updates and I have had the latest pendle map put on again slightly different and it's superb. Best yet.

Hi, I run a DTUK box on my T6 150 T32 and I am so impressed.
I did not want it for speed I was looking more at the DSG box running smoother and bit more torque.
What a gained from it was a smoother gearbox more power better speed. a much smoother engine and to top it off that
I gained another 4 miles to the gallon ( not a lot more mpg but with the power increase a nice bonus )
Also, they are pretty much plug and play and untraceable to VW Just need to pop it off before a service etc. I carry a fare weight of tools in it as well
so it's never empty.
Maybe worth a look you never know. They have a great technical advise team over the phone also.
Good luck with whichever way you go.

Interesting - you are of course right, I need to go back.
I have basically been driving around the problem and reducing throttle if I feel the effect.

Im up to pendle on saturday

Unfortunatly no revo remap
Which was closer to me
