VW Roadside Assistance price hike incoming October £120 -> £190

Just a heads up. I've just got off the phone to VW Roadside Assistance as need to renew shortly. Website currently states £120 for a year. My renewal is due just into October and was quoted £190. On asking why the differential to their website I was told the price increases to £190 at the start of October. That's some inflation!

Yes, this is just for breakdown cover (including Europe). At £120 I considered it reasonable value for money as it was considerably less expensive than the equivalent full price* AA cover (which didn't include Europe). For that you were getting access to the specialist VW mobile technicians and if they weren't available, the AA as back up.

* AA cover often discounted from full price through cash back schemes - or until the end of today 40% discount direct from AA
