Vw Polo 1.2 Moda Timing Chain Replacement

Morning

We the time has come for me to purchase a vehicle for my son who's recently passed his test.

He's interested in the above vehicle on a 2010 plate, however I read stories relating to the timing chains failing and was wondering if anyone on here has had any experience with this happening or if any mechanics on here can provide a rough estimate to get the chain and gears replaced?

If you can get it scanned, I think you can check the chain stretch.

The Moda were Malaysian grey imports which were imported due to chain failures been reported. So, they were exported them to UK. Some dealers were not disclosing this
