Voltronic standby charger

Hi I wonder if anyone could help. I have just purchased a Voltronic standby charger and I'm looking for help on how to install it. My current setup is 110ah agm battery with victron dc to dc charger and 200w solar with vicron mppt. I'm not sure which way to wire it up. Is best to go to dc to dc charger or mppt, any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Run a link to the Starter battery.

And the Board (leisure) battery.

Make sure you fuse the battery connection end.

If you have a dc-dc charger, then you can pic up both battery feeds there.

The unit has no negative connection so i assume your leisure battery would need to be common grounded to the vehicle for it to work properly
Most leisure batteries are grounded to the van but thought is was worth mentioning just in case

Lol
... Yes those boxes are basic diode, resistor droppers..no smarts.

All you need is a battery link.... With comon neg.

Here's a closer look...

Thanks, will check that out.

So is the Ablemail a more refined piece of electronics @Dellmassive ? I’m guessing it is as it is programmable.
Yep, it essentially monitors the voltage of the leisure battery and the starter battery, then so long as there is sufficient charge in the leisure battery it will deliver short pulses of current to the starter battery. As you say the voltages and pulse timing can be programmed to suit particular batteries and setups.

The idea here is that a starter battery should not need a bulk charge, that's done by the alternator, this strategy is specifically to offset the slow self discharge and drain from sleeping van ECUs and kept the starter at a healthy voltage when parked up.
