VIN No for Rear sliding LWB Window - Californian

Hi. I want to retrofit some rear sliding windows into my LWB T6.
VW will not accept an order without a VIN No. from an exact vehilce that has the windows.
Does anyone have rear sliding windows in LWB T6 who could supply me with a VIN. No. please.
I want the sliding part of the rear window to slide from the front to the back.
I have been told they are the Californian style of window. Thanks

Yeah looks good but I need your middle section window, in the back section....I want fixed where you windows are.

Hiya @Jez, might be being thick here, but rear sliders are same as kombi, so tell dealer to stop f&£@ing you about and being lazy, go outside and pull a vin off a kombi on their forecourt! Oh and if I remember correctly, Cali rears are double glazed?

Correct.
And they are all SWB!

Have only seen after market rear slider for the N/S at a show last year, normally cupboard on O/S. But only in SWB. And it didn't open fully due to shape of window either.

Think wires are getting crossed here, im reading it that slide windows are required on slide doors which as Daves says will be standard Kombi windows ?

No. I am after sliding windows in the rear section of a LWB, not the doors. That slide front front to back.

T6 Dave, after months inquires with VW and so much research, I hope you haven't ruined my last chance of getting the windows I need with your VIN No. comment. All you have done now is told the world how to get keys.....if someone can supply a VIN, I would get it privately of course, not published on the forum.

So they sound like they are windows from a Kombi. My problem is, VW refuses to look up the part No. without an original VIN number. I um retrofitting, not replacing unfortunately so I don't have the VIN number. I've had this problem with VW for many years on many parts.....

@Jez , my apologies if this is seen as a setback, however, the point has to be made to enlighten people due to today's climate. There is a way around this that I am not prepared to go into. My priority is to help members to protect their investment, and to try and help others, so in light of that, I would suggest drafting a letter/email to VW uk vans, and detail what you require. If they fail to help, I would forward an enquiry to the factory. In my defence you did not make clear that you would enter into pm discussions reference vin numbers, and in any case my comments still stand.

I wish you all the luck in your quest, but I am unaware of any lwb kombi with sliding rear windows, but I am new to the world of T's, however you might find making a template of a sliding door window and placing it on the rear panel will show if it can be relocated to the rear panel?

@Jez, I have just invested some of my time in this, looking through my brochures, and etka, can't see that there is the option for genuine rear sliders in the windows for a lwb. But I won't mind being corrected if wrong, as still learning about the VW T. Best of luck.

@Jez , have you ever considered that the reason that VW is "not being helpful" after your months of research, is that they are not available for a LWB? As a Cali cars etc are. SWB, can't see it available on the caravelle brochure, or the shuttle people carriers, where I would expect to find it being multiple seats. Vellies might have them, but would doubt it. You might have to wait on aftermarket, but no amount of seeking a persons VIN will help, as aren't OEM fit or option on rears of an LWB.

Dave, just for the record. VIN nos. as I always thought are clearly displayed on the front windscreen for anyone to see. Was the same on my T4 and I know T5s are the same. So you were completely wrong in your comment about using VIN No. to get keys. I am in Australia. Maybe ours are different to European T6s. If your facts were straight, no vehicle anywhere would be safe if it was that easy to get keys! No hard feelings Dave for high jacking my post. I have since gotten some nice windows and my kids are happy.

The vin ( Vehicle Identification Number ) number CAN & IS REQUIRED for getting keys, without it you won't get them.. And if you have access to certain info via the vin you can get the required info to make them, as it pulls up the vehicle data! That is why dealers need your vin for orders etc, as what other number relates to that vehicle and can't be changed? The number plate? This is why police use vin numbers to check a vehicles identity.. As that's what it is for.. And for the record, I didn't "hijack" your thread, mearly warned fellow members against publishing VIN numbers on a public forum, maybe you should have asked people to pm you them as your post wasn't clear on this point.. In the end, I stand by my post warning people NOT to publish VIN numbers publicly, and have no regrets having said what I said, so yes likewise, no hard feelings Jez.. Were your windows VW in the end? Or aftermarket? Glad you got it sorted in the end, and your kids are happy..
