Morning - Any ideas what to mount the solar mppt controller on? Instructions say it has to be on a non flammable surface, only thing I can I find suitable is hardie backer cement board.

Ply or laminate board is fine. Just don’t mount direct to carpet lining.

Some use metal plate too.

Or mount it to 'nothing' by fixing it to somewhere that has a void undernesth the main body of the unit. So maybe make somthing with 2 ply rails and screw the mppt to those. That way the main body will have free air underneath and won't get hot.
Mine is part jammed in and part 3m taped into a void in my roof space with space all around it.
Tested in Spain last year and it only got slightly warm.

Yeah, the important thing is to mount it vertically doo the hot air can escape over the cooling fins on the back.

Do the more powerful ones have fins like the Orion 30a? My 75/15 MPPT is flat at the back.
Yeah, the only ones that don't have fins are the 75/10 and 75/15. The 100/15 and all above have fins, getting bigger and bigger in fin size and footprint size.

This is my 100/20 - same footprint as the 75 models but bigger with fins.
