Not urgent, doesn't seem to be causing any problems, but I'm curious... Fairly regularly, I see a dip in the starter battery voltage in the middle of the night as if the van had been unlocked - any ideas what's going on?
The trace below is from last night and is pretty typical. After driving from Black Mountains back to Oxford (with a stop at Go Outdoors), then van was left to its own devices overnight except when I remembered to fully empty the fridge just before 22:00. That shows a typical unlock dip - but what's the similar one at 02:49?!
Details
- 2022 T6.1 150PS with tracker and dashcam on Vehicle Battery:
- Tracker phones in every hour when the vehicle is parked up but log shows this at 02:27 and 03:27 so not at time of the dip
- Dashcam will be in parking mode, but didn't log any incidents overnight
- BM2 is on the starter battery +ve to chassis ground, logging data to Home Assistant (all the logging-related kit is on the leisure battery - the drain on that is a different story!)
- Doorbell cam doesn't show anything between me running out of cold beer in the house just before 10pm, and going out to check the dashcam at 9 this morning
Looking back quickly over September, I can see similar dips on 6th, 8th, 19th and 20th, all between 2ish and 4ish. May have been more but it was on the trickle charger some nights so harder to see. Some times the van was just parked on the drive, some we were in the van (but it's very obvious on those nights when the doors are opened last thing at night and first thing in the morning)
