Unknown Fault code 16099

Having a few issues with my New 6.1 dsg.

Started off with the engine cutting out when restarting during stop-start. It’s like it’d stalling but given its auto, I think it’s just failing to start. Had roadside assistance out - no fault codes. This has happened about 5 times over the last 4 weeks now.

Now I’m Occasionally getting a vibration / possible mis fire when idling, with the ignition coil light (engine management light) showing. I had the AA out last night, he scanned it and got 16099 - unknown fault coming back.

anyone got any ideas what this code is or if the two issues are related?

That's a generic fault code, needs to have a more specific VAG tester to diagnose it.
When you call the AA (Use VW Assist) request they send a VW tech with a VW VAS tester he will get better diagnostics than a generic ODB reader.

thanks!
I had the vag specialist the first time but it showed nothing. They just sent the AA last night.

I’ll get them around tomorrow and hopefully they can figure it out at the roadside.

Thanks man!

Annoying faults like this can be hard to find.
A free thing you can do is check every fuse is properly seated in the Engine bay fuse box and the one below the steering wheel just in case its a simple loose connection.
