Would one of you be able to tell me what this is, it’s next to the battery.
Also, why would it be disconnected?

thanks

Simon

That’s a solenoid. But I cant see anything disconnected in that photo, the cable going into the red crimp doesn’t look good though.

Sorry, you can’t see it in this picture but the the cable going into the top left of the solenoid is no longer connected to the battery.
It’s a new conversion, so I’m still looking around and finding things.
Would this cause my start stop error I get when I turn the key.
The van starts and runs fine, but start stop doesn’t work.

thanks

Follow the other side of the solenoid and see where it goes?

Would have been nice for your converter to have removed it to tidy things up, echo what’s already been said more than likely for a heavy feed to rear for jump starting have you got anything connected to vehicle negative apart from vehicle terminal if so this could be causing stop start issue

I will check and get back to you.

thanks

Do you get a stop/start error message, or is it just that it doesn’t work as you would expect ?

I get a start stop error when I first start the van and it doesn’t stop like it should.
I was wondering if it just needed a new battery. I replaced my land rover fr2 battery last week and my start stop started working.

Yes, could be a tired battery. Try giving it a full long charge with a decent battery charger, then drive it and see what happens. Or see if it works after a long drive.

I used to have an ex RAC van. When they decommissioned it they removed items worth anything and then just cut all the wires and removed fuses etc. It was difficult to make sense of any wiring so I just removed it all carefully.
