Trying To Find Switched Live Above Front Interior Light

I'm trying to find a switched live (15) to take power off for a hard wired in dashcam above the interior light unit. I expected to get switched live from the dimming mirror or rain sensor.

I have a batt+ on a red/white cable to the rain sensor, and what seems to be switched live on a black to the mirror, but that strikes me as an odd colour, and I don't want to take load from it if it's ECU I/O.

Can anyone point me to a wiring diagram. Looked through the ones here, but can't find these units on any of them.

Or is there a better place to get switches live from in that area ?

Iirc it's a switched ground up there, think you'll have to take a feed from the lower fusebox. That's what I did anyway

Cheers Andy, I have plenty of grounds (31) on brown cables up there to both mirror and rain sensor. I've found the switched ground you mention that goes to the interior lights. I may just have to run a cable down to the lower fusebox then...

The mirror is supplied by the feed to to the reading lights so is switch aux but will stay live on a timer until you lock or it times out after I think 15 mins.

I just installed a dashcam and wasn’t relishing pulling the head liner and pillar trim off to do it. I too was thinking of using the overhead light but I found that it is easy to push the dashcam power cable under the headliner without removing it.
The cable was easily routed to the centre lower fuse panel under the pillar trim after removing the passenger side pillar handle and air bag switch panel.
I removed the glove box just to make it easier, it was not really neccesary.

What they said....

Take your ignition live from the under dash fuse box with a piggyback fuse.

Roof center>roof lining>side a pillar>dash side panel>behind glovebox>fusebox.

Thanks very much all for your help. Still not clear on the feeds to the mirror, as not actually on the above diagram. I'll probably just admit defeat and run a separate live feed from the fusebox.

I think it's the Red/Black (rt/sw) in current track 19, you can always put a meter on it to prove.

I can only see the rt/sw on track 16 going to the mirror - Y7. Track 19 is a batt+.

I saw that, but I don't have a red/black going to the mirror, just three wires, brown, black and green/black. I guessed it was spiced somewhere in the loom.

From the Loz's schematic, the track 16 red/black looks like another way of powering both reading lights together. The diodes stop them being effectively connected together when the switch is open. Additionally the red/black is pulled low when the reading light switches are in the other position than shown on the schematic.

As in my first message, my black appears to be a switched live, but that strikes me as an odd colour for a switched live.
