here's a photo of an H7 bulb, showing the tab and the recess it needs to fit into.
The photo is not a T6 THQ lamp, the tab goes upright at the top in these. If the bulb is not the right way up and correctly seated, then the HID hotspot is wrongly positioned inside the headlight reflector and will give you the weird pattern.
Take off the top of the airbox, get a small mirror and a torch to check, it's pretty easy.
And after all that, if you had normal bulbs in before and the pattern was fine, its not the headlight, its def the HID bulb seating.
