here's a photo of an H7 bulb, showing the tab and the recess it needs to fit into.

The photo is not a T6 THQ lamp, the tab goes upright at the top in these. If the bulb is not the right way up and correctly seated, then the HID hotspot is wrongly positioned inside the headlight reflector and will give you the weird pattern.

Take off the top of the airbox, get a small mirror and a torch to check, it's pretty easy.

And after all that, if you had normal bulbs in before and the pattern was fine, its not the headlight, its def the HID bulb seating.

good luck.

Currently running the V2's would be interested in upgrade/group buy if someone wants to by my 2 month old V2's

Is there anyone going to be selling their THQ V2 headlights when the V3's come out next month.
If so Im willing to wait to buy them so I don't pull the trigger on a new set at the weekend.

As if by magic....

Ill take em...lol
Send me a pm with a price.......im happy to wait till you have the V3's if the price is good.

We need a T6 version of those Caddy ones. Even have the 2 split drls below the main lights like the OEM version.
I asked THQ about version three having these.. they said they can’t make them with the two split DRL’s due to them potentially breaching copyright :(

Just had an email from THQ saying V3's won't be released till later this year! keep any eye out and I will be in touch if you are still interested

Hi All, got a question about DAB radio reception.....

On my hour commute up the M5 I always lose reception in 3 places. Always the same places and I can predict when it's about to happen. It loses reception in those 3 places without fail.

I've recently swapped out my THQ V2s for an OEM LED retrofit. A side effect of this is that the DAB radio reception has improved. I've now made the same hour commute 3 times and not lost reception once.

I was running Philip Ultinon LED bulbs in the THQ units, but I'm wondering whether it was those LED bulbs, the headlight LED DRLs or a combination of both that were causing the issue.

Have any of you noticed a change in your DAB reception when you fitted your THQ lights and have any of you noticed any change in reception based on your choice of bulb, LED, HID, halogen?

I had DAB problems with THQ V1's with Twenty20 LED bulbs. The Philips LEDs were fine, so are the HIDs.

The DAB reception has always been poor in my van, (although VW cannot find any faults) I do have the THQ v1 lights but with Phillips halogen bulbs. I’m sure the reception was just as poor with the original H4 though but it will be interesting if there is an improvement when I fit the factory LEDs...

Hi All - newbie here - first post. We picked up our Autohaus conversion in November and all good except been totally shocked by how bad the headlights are... been an avid Forum reader ever since getting the van and learned so much I wish I'd known before hand - everyone seems to know so much and willing to share their knowledge which is great.
Based on this forum, I have been in touch with Andy at TransporterHQ and he has been really helpful and currently I've got the van booked in for upgrade in a couple of weeks - but just a little niggle at the back of my mind about how this might affect the warranty on the van - its a brand new Nov '19 van so still nosey 3 years warranty left.
Have any of you had the TransporterHQ lights swap done while still under the VW warranty and if so has this been an issue, or should I put up with limiting my night driving for 3 years and have done then.... any advice very appreciated! Thank you.
