Tracking an order

My dealer has supplied me with an eight digit order number. I assumed this would then allow me to track its progress. My van is due to start being built next week.
when I enter the tracking number into the main VW “track my order” section it comes up as order not recognised. When I go to the VW commercial site it asks for a vin number.

can you not start tracking your order until after it is built?

You can't track commercial vehicles like you can VW cars

Just go on the live chat on the VW commercial website, they can then track your build with the number you have, only takes a few minutes. The problem is you end up tracking it every week and watching it get further and further away with a build date

We ordered our van 2nd Jan. Told it would be delivered estimating 31st March. I went onto live chat with our order number and was told our order had not yet been accepted by factory, and had a required by date as 11th July on it. Not happy at all. Was told to check discrepancy with our dealer VW dealer. As yet, not heard back from them. We’ll probably cancel order as too late in the year to have it converted. We already have a T6 camper we converted, and had hoped we could sell it June, after converting new one.
