So how long do its on-board batteries last and how does one know when to replace them? If they are not charged from the vehicle circuit then it must be accessible and, potentially, not as well concealed.I got an Incutex TK106 - I'm very happy with it so far. It's battery powered so you don't need to wire it in which makes it easier to hide and it'll keep going even if the vehicle battery is disconnected.
Not sure about that one but Cantrack Asset quote upto 15 years which will depend on how you configure it. Realistically I'm not expecting anything like that but if I can get 4 or 5 years I will be happy (daily reports are currently showing I'm down to 87% battery after 6 months but I did use the first 5% quite quickly due to the way I had configured). It is just a black box that you can stash anywhere you want in the vehicle with no requirement for power. Works a bit different to a normal GPS tracker (which I also have) but seems very effective. So how long do its on-board batteries last and how does one now when to replace them? If they are not charged from the vehicle circuit then it must be accessible and, potentially, not as well concealed.
No, its a sealed box that you just hide somewhere and forget about - when the battery dies then it would be back to the manufacturers for replacement. It doesn't continually broadcast its position like other trackers do. Instead it logs events (movement/position, light, turnover, collision, etc.) and then wakes up to send you reports at predetermined times each day. In the event of theft the subscription includes a team of feet on the ground people who will go out and find the vehicle across the UK and Europe. It took a bit of getting used to as I have other trackers that can continually tell me where the vehicle is and let me follow it in real time via app, etc.. but I like it.@Davenjo do you take it out to charge every now and then or leave it concealed?

Unless you are buying more than 100 I think the quoted price is what you'd pay. It's a different approach, not sure it's the right solution for our fleet tracking but I like the ode of it for stashing away on our trailers fo reassurance, peace of mind and mileage logging. Are the website prices fixed or did you find any movement?
