TPI: 2046279, T6: repair instructions for voltage supply
of 2nd battery
Tool and components:
- Cable for 2nd battery 16mm² (7E0.971.044)
- Corrugated tube (N.107.326.01)
- Cable tie (N.106.622.01 or similar)
- Grommet (2D0.906.376.S)
- Butyl (AKL.450.005.05)
- Wrapping tape
- Holder of cut-off relay with bolts (1x 7E0.93
- Increase fuse SA3 to 125 A (N.105.255.07)
1. Remove the battery in the engine compartment and open the electronics box.
2. Remove the middle section of the electronics box, apply a hole and fit a grommet
3. Route the hose as shown in the illustrations through the bulkhead grommet (near brake servo) and seal with butyl. Then put the complete hose in corrugated tube.
4. As shown in the illustrations route the hose through the grommet into the electronics box. Shorten and insulate the old hose. Increase the fuse SA3 from 100 A to 125 A. Then reassemble everything.
5. Route the hose into the vehicle interior. Note Avoid chafe and contact points. The seats and the carpet has be removed beforehand.
6. Finally fit the relay with holder (see current flow diagram/repair manual, Camper) in the seat box. The old relay and the old fuse holder can be removed. Adjust the activation of the new relay. The supplied earth wire must be replaced.
