Touchscreen unresponsive in heat

I have recently noticed that when the weather has been very hot my VW Media player touchscreen can become unresponsive. The Android Auto satnav screen displays the correct vehicle location as I drive, but nothing happens when I touch the screen to enter addresses, change radion stations etc.

It returns to normal later in the evening when the general temperature drops.

Is this a common issue, if so has anyone resolved it?

My van will soon be 6 years old so I believe will be out of warranty

Same issue with my 18 plate. First noticed it after 3 hours driving a month ago. Seems to do it all this week as soon as the screen is hot. Be interested to hear if anyone has fixed it.

Sorry to resurrect an older post but has this fixed this after the current heatwave. I have the same issue as above, with the stereo touchscreen becoming unresponsive in this heatwave. It is fine when cool.

What have you got to lose?
Mine was unresponsive, i bought my van in August, it was more noticeable in the heat, yes.

I had this problem with the original unit in my 2018 van.
Fortunately VW Centre in Camberley changed it before the end of my extended all in warranty.
The replacement has been ok so far
