Timing belt change - anything else?

transporter.

Hi all I have a t6 150bhp transporter engine code : CXHA

It's time to have its timing belt and water pump changed. I was wondering is there anything else I should ask the mechanic to change or have a look at as the work is getting done?

Maybe the aux belt and all the idlers and tensioners while they are in there. I had both belts, water pump and all the idlers/tensioners done a few months back for £600. Was getting a whining noise which was one of the tensioners on the way out. 2018 150bhp manual.

Renew timing belt and water pump kit, vacuum fill coolant to avoid air locks.
Check free end crankshaft seal for leakage.
Consider upgrading the timing belt cover to the latest revision - has been improved to reduce the chance of a failed auxiliary belt jamming the timing belt.
Check alternator pulley clutch function.
Replace auxiliary belt and tensioner.

I can hear a slight squeeze starting in the mornings. So changing the auxiliary belts would be a good idea.

How many tensioners, idler pulleys are there?.
(Any good website i can find a diagram?)

As everything is off it makes sense to just replace them I guess For a piece of mind.

Got the 4 year marker coming up in February, i hope Santa is very nice to me this Christmas :think smile bounce:
