Planning is under way for the first forum gathering !

We are going to Glanllyn - Lakeside in North Wales on the bank holiday last weekend of May 27-28-29

The campsite is overlooking Bala Lake and there are a few activities and a watersports company that specialise in SUP on-site, check out this youtube video to get an idea
We have contacted the campsite for availability but need to get this booked sooner rather than later as its a bank holiday weekend it is likely to book up fast. We need an idea of numbers so we can reserve spaces then everybody will be able to contact them and pay as they do not take group bookings on bank holiday weekends.
This is a relaxed informal family event and is open to everyone, would be great to put some names to faces and get to know everyone a bit better.

I have attached a pdf price list so everyone can checkout the costs (prices in the right column as its a B/H weekend) we are looking at £30 deposit per booking & £26-£36 per night and an additional £4 for electric hookup. Facilities are provided with hot showers and hot water for washing up etc FOC

I will put a list of people attending in the post below and edit/update it as and when, if you want to be added or removed from the below list then please let me know ASAP

@Pauly rember to bring your vcds there might be a bit of trading going on for a few tweeks and mods , bacon butties or cans, bottles of lager ?

Already booked up to be there that weekend with another (non VW related), small, group I'm admin for - see you all there.

Hi @Pauly, will check my rota on Monday when back in the office - got my promotion on Friday so need to work out where my shifts are going to align.

Emailed them an inquiry last week not heard back...

Strange - I emailed them on Tuesday and got a response within about 30 minutes.

Might be because they were closed for bookings until 2nd Jan??

I spoke to them earlier in the week and availability is fine, i suggested 10-15 vehicles/groups as a starting point, although they dont do group bookings for bank holiday weekends if we can get an idea of numbers then i can let them know roughly and then individuals can book into our "area" if we want to be in the same vicinity.
They are ok with mixed plots ie vans/tents/awnings etc
The only stipulation was that they would not accept multiple single male and single female bookings or large groups of youngsters, once i explained that we were mostly grownups and not all swingers they were fine ;)

We have been there over the May and August Bank Holidays for the last few years and the site is always full over these weekends (no vacancies sign out by the Saturday afternoon). Thus, if you want to go, especially if you want EHU, I would recommend booking sooner rather than later.

(@Pauly depending on numbers and how many people want EHU; with the layout of the the site and location of the camper/tent EHUs around the edge of the field, it might be better/less complicated to have our area somewhere in the main field with those requiring EHUs taking whatever pitches are available??)

For info; if anyone is taking a caravan, be aware that these are not allowed down as far towards the lake shore as the area we will likely be allocated but should not be an issue.

If anyone wants any info on the site, just ask!

No response from them for me yet..
Will continue to call next week(no response on web enquiry either.

Fingers crossed.

Site is closed so I guess the office is not fully staffed at present. (If no response I can inbox you an alternative email address)

Thanks @Davenjo
Funny thing, after is put that post I have had an email from them and have responded to reserve a plot. Will try and call again to make a payment, to secure a plot in our area.
Thanks.. will keep you posted as and when.
Regards
Fish

@Pauly, I'm in. Have spoken to the site and paid my deposit. If anyone is wondering, the bank holiday booking is for minimum of 3 nights (Fri, Sat and Sun). We'll probably get there some point late on the Friday after the kids finish school, or early Saturday morning as the traffic will probably be poo.
