Tailgate won't open [Resolved]

Got 2015 Transporter Trendline Camper.Rear window smashed 9 months ago in tailgate and I think some glass is blocking door mechanism.Vehicle is a T6 so no inside handle,when I try to open from outside can hear mechanism slide then return to position but door will not open.Any ideas?

If you can get to the bottom of the tailgate, there’s a rubber grommet in there. Pull that out and there’s a little piece of metal with a hole in. If you can push this downwards, the tailgate should open. If there’s something psychically blocking the mechanism, it may not work, but worth a try.

Watch your fingers if there are chunks of glass in there.
