Had one of the ball pins snap off on the tailgate where the hydraulic Strutt fastens to the tailgate.
Ordered a replacement one from VW. Part number 7E0-827-439.
Thread size diameter is identical. But threaded hole on actual tailgate is too large. Albeit there is an upper company a lower one which fastens to the bodywork. I need the upper part. VW are stating this is the only part they do. But I feel there must be an insert that goes into the tailgate. That the thread should screw into. Any thoughts ? Bottom one in picture is broken one. Upper one is replacement part.
