T6 PQ sat nav update possible?

Just removed my PQ nav head unit due to the common issue of randomly moving map, unresponsive bottom of screen etc and replaced it with a Xtrons Android one. Pretty unimpressed with Xtrons effort, so considering repairing the VW one. I'm planning to just replace the digitizer. Two questions.
1. Has anyone done this and did it work?
2. My Nav database is out of date. VW seem to have removed their discovercare site. Is there any other way of updating the nav?
