Having been the happy owners of a T5 converted panel van for 8 years, we're now in the market for an upgrade (ours is 20 years old and feeling it). So I've switched from the T5 forum to this one
We're pretty happy with our setup which is very basic - side windows added; insulated and lined with a marine-ply/vinyl floor; a ply guys u-shape rig with drawers and bulkheads - and really would just like to reproduce that in a slightly newer van with a few more mod-cons and in better mechanical order and body conditions. I'm therefore looking to buy a van which isn't running a full camper setup with all the furniture and sink etc., though would be very happy to find something with a bit more in the way of leisure electrics/lights already set up.
I'm therefore posting on the offchance that someone is thinking about selling a van which isn't fully converted. Maybe a project that hasn't worked out, maybe just something on overstock? Or if you know of a really good panel van coming up. Looking for something not older than 10 years.
Budget, to about 17-18 grand for the right van. We know it's not so much in the grand scheme of what-you-can-spend-on-a-VW but it's what we've got.
