thanks loz.......is it true that the sump plug is plastic? I'm still toying with the idea of buying one of those oil extractor pumps.....but surely it's best to remove the sump plug?
The sump plug is metal.
agree with @Scot as i have already changed my oil.
which oil did you go for.....presumably a filter change too?
This is what I used plus a VW filter and sump plug.
Quantum long life, approved for vw, audi and skoda 504 00/507 00 specifications.
Huh......you have to replace the sump plug even though it's metal???
No, But I got it free with the filter
The sump washer comes on the bolt so VW recommend replacing it when servicing, depending what it's made of/how soft it is this may or may not be necessary
Can anyone confirm the spec of the sump plug? I'm going to use one of these: Gold Plug AP08 Magnetic Sump Plug Audi, Seat, Volkswagen, Kia, Ford, Mazda, MX-5
and can't find the exact T6 match in the part lookup but similar 2.0TDi VW engines seems to use the AP08 part.
Put one of these on a standard sump plug - 5 x 3 Rare Earth Magnet You can glue it on if you feel you must but it's not going anywhere.
Just to round this off I can confirm that the AP08 is the correct part for my EU6 150.
So I purchased my "Gold Plug" magnetic sumplug, very nice, and supplied it to my dealer when it went in for is first service and they flatly refused to fit a non-vw part!
Doesn't surprise me tbh.
@Loz , not sure if it’s just my iPad but I can’t access page 103 that covers the CXEB engine as that is what mine is?
