T6 not starting but shaking on start up...eventually starts after continous trying [Resolved]

Hi, in regards the the shaking on start up so far clearing the codes and charging the battery, it has not done it since.
But i have had the wires that had been "chewed" through happen again.
The wires have not been "chewed through" i put the van up on ramps and had a look myself this time. It showed as having "oil sensor take to workshop" and "stop/start error" on the mfd.
Once i looked it was clear the silver underbody heat shield has been cutting through the wires.
I have videod this and am disgraced at VWs lack of mechanical ability.
I have now fixed this myself using 0.5 mil shrink crimps, electrical tape and the extra rubber hose tubing around the wires. I also put the heat shield back in the correct position and fitted it back where it should be. My local Vw basically bodged the whole job. Even connected the wire by cable tie to my ad blue line which eventually would have cut the line. cost £7 to fix myself. Vw charged me £150 and bodged it the first time.

I am still having issues with mine, battery was replaced 14th Sep and was ok for a couple of weeks. Then after I had been driving it last Sat stopped for 5mins went into a shop and came ba k out and wouldn't start. Had to get recovery which took a few hours to get to me, then it just started. No fault codes showing up. Then 4 days later from a cold start it failed. AA came out, couldn't get started and said there was a lift pump problem. Went to VW Commercial Bilston and they phoned Tues and said can't find anything wrong with it! No fault codes and it's starting for them so can't do anything.

Has anyone resolved this issue as it’s exactly the fault I’ve had with my 2008 T6 - still doing it - never leaves a fault code - can go weeks even months perfectly then it starts faulting again quite severely out of the blue - I’d love to get to the bottom of it

2017 150ps with 25k on the clock, same issue! At the moment I would say its a cold start issue. It's OK after first tricky start. Did this thread get resolved, I'm about to embark on investigation by garage VW specialist) and would like to give them some pointers ( and look as though I know what I'm talking about!)......

As yet still unresolved. I’ve had the van from new and it’s displayed this fault intermittently from 3 months old, mines a 2018.
Coincidentally it’s going back to the workshop tomorrow for them to take another look but I’m starting to feel it’ll never be resolved.

That's a bit depressing, I've only just bought it! Have also bought a a Noco....just in case.....

can you be more specific,

of the symptoms, and any correlation of when it happens and why it happens?

raining, dry
cold engine,warm engine.
full tank,empty tank
left a long time? - a week before restart?
does it turn over fast/normal or slow?
any other issues?
any dash lights?
when started does it run smooth?
Hi, you're asking the right questions I'm looking for haha.
I have a 19 plate, it has an extended crank before fire up after short journies. On several occasions when I've started the van for a brief time without driving then turned it off and the next time I try to start it has excessive crank times and not started as the battery went flat. Any help is massively appreciated. Its been into vw previously and they said they've repaired a damaged pipe as it was sucking air in but the fact that it only struggles after short journeys or a start up and never longer journeys is strange. Thank you

This probably won’t help but my issue was resolved with……..fuel! I park my van on a steepish drive, usually pointing down the drive. I’m not sure how accurate the fuel gauge is when getting near the bottom but couldn’t start it having let the tank run to near empty (but we’ll clear of fully empty, or so I thought). Once the van was on the level (having been trailered to a VW specialist), it started without them doing anything. Annoyingly it killed the battery, which I think was already in a poor state when I bought the van. This all happened nearly a year ago, no issues since.

Hi, did you get this sorted as it sounds exactly like the problem I am having just now. My 2018 T6 is still under warranty and was in with VW commercial, they said it was the battery and replaced that. However it is still doing the same thing and had to call recovery the other day. It then started without them actually doing anything! I need to get it booked back in with them.
Hi, did you get this sorted? I have occasional hard starts myself. Been told its possibly crank censor?

Hi, any luck with this? I have similar issues.
